Abstract:
Students’ persistence and success in science is influenced by their sense of belonging. Organic chemistry faculty members recognize the importance of representation and belonging in the classroom but may encounter challenges in highlighting the accomplishments of individuals. To address this need, we developed the Diverse OrganicERs Spotlight so that organic chemistry faculty may readily share the accomplishments of underrepresented organic chemists with their students. Individual profiles include research accomplishments as well as details about the person themselves, and they may be seamlessly integrated regardless of the order of course content. We introduce the Diverse OrganicERs Spotlight and welcome contributions to this growing collection.
